First the bad points... not so new but good to know.
- madvr is bugged as hell right now and performance drops so bad.
- madvr "new algorithms" destruct image quality with unacceptable ringing artefacts.
- madvr needs to have a custom driver resolution (for doubling) which implements system issues.
- madvr developer talked more about his first stable paid release.
- madvr is closed source and its single author could die sooner that you think.
Furthermore the new microsoft os release seems to be a major spyware with unacceptable things.
We hope that they will be condemned for crimes against humanity as soon as possible.
Now the good parts...
- mpv has better gpu algorithms that has real effects on image quality.
- mpv runs amazingly well in any linux distribution.
- mpv is open source and everything is provided on github.
Furthermore mpv works perfectly with vapoursynth for cpu multithread post-processing.
Even if you have shitty gpu, laptop ones for example, you can use amazing vapoursynth algorithms.
